Health and fitness appear to be top priorities when it comes to rethinking career paths in 2025.
Researchers who analysed Google data throughout 2024 found sport and fitness as the most searched-for phrase for hjob seekers followed by personal trainer’ or ‘fitness coach.
They found they received requests from 29,918 and 29,508 people respectively when using phrases such as “training near me” and “courses,” in a study that covered nearly 700 careers.
Administration and management ranked third, with 28,226 searches each month followed by construction crafts, with plumbing emerging as the most desirable field in this industry.
Work with animals came fifth with dog grooming has been named the most sought-after job in that sector.
Ertul Topuzoglu, CEO of tecnovy Academy, the training company behind the study gave a hint about the reasoning: “A lot of the careers in this ranking involve practical, physical skills, which cannot be reasonably accomplished by artificial intelligence, which is a concern for many regarding the longevity of their career path.
“All of these roles and industries require qualifications and skill sets which must be taught, and it is positive to see such a high number of Brits are searching for the right training for their sought-after career each month.”
Were there any surprises? He added: “Dog grooming is a fascinating result. Despite being one of the lower-paid jobs on the list, the ranking suggests that workers are willing to learn new skills to pursue a career they will find emotionally rewarding.”
Other popular choices included Psychology and counselling i electrical engineering,
Teaching Advertising, marketing and PR, particularly digital marketing and mechanical and manufacturing engineering.
