The US votes for a Lame Duck president

Barrack Obama needs to phone Britain’s David Cameron to learn about coalition governments. After losing control of the House of Representatives and with only a wafer thin majority in the Senate, the Democrat US president needs the support of rival Republicans to survive the next two years.

Wall Street pay ceiling plays to the gallery
