Joining the dots between cost and carbon reduction for finance directors

Profile

Eco-Finance focuses on commentary related to the positive impact that finance directors can make to the bottom line of a company by involving carbon reduction at the strategic, as well as the execution, stage of corporate financial policy. In effect, it strives to join the dots between the practices of cost reduction and carbon reduction for the director of finance.

Peter Wognum is Programme Manager of the Low Carbon Business Programme, a £6.3 million part EU funded, ‘Solutions for Business’ programme providing consultative & financial support to SMEs in the Thames Gateway South Essex region in reducing their financial and environmental impact whilst also seeking to develop new business in the low carbon economy, and new employment opportunities in existing companies.

Previously Peter was CEO of Biz4Green Limited, a single-source supplier of technology solutions driving new (better) behaviours to reduce business operating costs and CO2 emissions. He has also previously held a number of director posts in the automotive, healthcare, education, finance and retail fashion sectors. With Biz4Green Limited he has worked primarily with companies in the financial sector as well as others in the construction, consulting, recruitment and training sectors.
